The Clergy Tax Seminar will help clergy better understand how to address their unique issues when filing Federal Income Tax returns for 2017. This year the Seminar will also address two significant changes: (1) the impact of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Reform Act and (2) the significance of the ruling on the unconstitutionality of the clergy housing allowance. Are you prepared for these big changes? Do you know how the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Reform Act may impact you? Not since 1986 have there been such sweeping changes. What about the most recent ruling on the unconstitutionality of the clergy housing allowance? Some believe the sun is setting on the clergy housing allowance. How might this impact you now and in retirement? Plan now to attend the 2018 Clergy Tax Seminar.
The Clergy Tax Seminar will be led by Rev. Ed Bailey, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The seminar will conclude by 3:00 PM. It can qualify for Conference continuing education funds and application forms will be available on-site.
Clergy and spouses are welcome to attend this seminar. Local church treasurers may also wish to register and attend. The fee is $40 for clergy members and treasurers and $15 for spouse attendees, which provides lunch; all supplied take-home materials; and CEU application.
A limited number of scholarships are available through the UM Foundation. Please contact us if you are interested in applying for one.
Please register via the link near the top of this page no later than January 18, 2017.
